About Bay Alarm Medical

Bay Alarm Medical has been around since the late 1940s, when it established itself as a contender in the home security business. In later years, it added medical alert systems to its portfolio and is now one of the biggest names in the industry.

By contracting several US-based call centers, Bay Alarm Medical is able to provide around-the-clock assistance to its members. Any time you press the big red button, you'll establish a connection to one of its customer service centers and get the help that you need.

Bay Alarm Medical Products

There are currently four different products in the Bay Alarm Medical range. It's had a long time to innovate and grow, and the result is that the company has a product for every need and every user.

In Home Medical Alert

This is the most basic product in the Bay Alarm Medical range. It costs only $19.95 a month and the base unit features a loud, clear speaker alongside a large red "Help" button. It is a dedicated home system that suits most users and offers all the following benefits:

  • Two-Way Communication: A sensitive microphone and clear speaker offer two-way communication. The unit can also be used to answer a phone call.
  • Backup Power: The Bay Alarm Medical In-Home Medical Alert system connects to a power source and phone socket, but in the event of a blackout it also has a 32-hour backup battery to keep that protection ticking over.
  • Mobile: You can choose to connect through a landline or cellular connection. The unit can also be taken with you and installed in another location.

On the Go Help Button

A simple little button that is made and monitored in the United States and works through 4G to find your location and direct emergency medical services. It's a little more expensive than the In-Home Medical Alert, but at a fraction under $25, it's still an affordable device.

The On the Go Help Button is waterproof and comes in black or white.

The SOS Smartwatch

For the same monthly fee as the One the Go Help Button, the SOS Smartwatch is a slick watch that comes bundled with features such as GPS detection, a long battery life, and water resistance. In the event of an emergency, just press the "SOS" button on the rim of the watch and you can connect with the monitoring center to get immediate assistance.

It's not quite as stylish or as full of features as an Apple or Samsung smartwatch, but it does offer some basic and incredibly useful features, and unlike the aforementioned smartwatches, you don't need to have a cell phone nearby for it to work.

Automatic Fall Detector

A separate device that costs an additional $10 per month and sends for help when you fall and are unable to press any buttons or make a call. The Fall Detector works with other Bay Alarm Medical systems and is not a standalone product.

It claims to be the most accurate in the industry and states that it has been built in a way that reduces false alarms, which are a serious problem with these products and cause much distress for the user.

Bundle Products

The best way to shop and save at Bay Alarm Medical is to purchase one of the bundle packages, which combine the products outlined above to provide you with complete cover inside and outside the home.

For $39.95 a month you can get the In-Home Medical Alert System and either the SOS Watch or the On the Go Help Button. There are other bundle discounts available as well, and you could save up to $119 a year by going down this route.
