In 2015, Saatva, a New York-based company that was launched 4 years earlier, was listed as the 101st best online retailer by Inc. In just a few short years, it has grown into one of the country’s biggest online mattress retailers. In the same breakout year, it also received recognition from Vogue, Forbes, and countless consumer magazines and websites.
Half a decade later, Saatva is bigger than ever before and has been on a seemingly unstoppable ascent. Its revenue topped $375 million in 2019 and was expected to top half a billion in 2020.
Of course, 2020 didn’t develop quite as anyone predicted it would, but Saatva still continued its ascent and currently stands as one of the biggest brands in the online mattress space.
About Saatva
Saatva is a private company that was founded by Ricky Joshi and Ron Rudzin, an entrepreneur and a furniture expert, respectively. The idea was to sell quality mattresses online, avoid costly brick-and-mortar stores, and pass the savings onto consumers.
All Saatva mattresses are designed and made in the United States. They are produced in 19 factories and delivered by 145 fulfillment centers, with an average distance of just 100 miles between one of the centers and a customer’s address.
Although the brand began with a simple, low-cost, high-quality mattress, it has since expanded into other areas, with luxury offerings, eco-friendly options, an adjustable bed, and more.
The Mattress
As expected, a lot of Saatva’s marketing revolves around the ways a bed can change your life. It’s something you will have seen and heard many times before that could probably make you roll your eyes. But, if the mattress is right for you, offering the ideal firmness and support based on your weight, health, and sleep style, it really can make a huge difference.
Just think how many days have been ruined because you didn’t get enough sleep or have a sore back from a terrible mattress. Take those problems away, and your life will improve.
The Saatva mattress goes beyond simply offering something that is new, durable, and suitable. It claims to provide optimal back support and even has the chiropractic seal of approval.
It provides extra support in the lumbar region, has a layer of memory foam for pressure relief, and boasts airflow technology to keep you dry and cool. The Saatva mattress is available in three firmness levels and offers the following features:
- 120-Night Sleep Trial: If you don’t like the mattress, simply return it within 120 days and you’ll get a full hassle-free refund. Note that companies like to encourage you to hold onto mattresses for the full trial period, as it can take time to settle in and get accustomed to change
- This process isn’t free and you will be charged a $99 transportation fee
- Free White Glove Delivery: They will deliver the mattress to your home and take it to your room of choice. Your old mattress will also be taken away, a service that is typically provided for an additional cost but is completely free of charge with Saatva
The Bed
The Lineal Adjustable Base is a relatively cheap adjustable bed that includes massage features, a whisper-soft motor, and several different adjustments. It can support up to 850 lbs. and is the perfect companion for most sizes of the Saatva mattresses.
You’ll get all of the following features:
- Illumination: Lights snap on underneath the bed to help you find your way during the middle of the night
- Massage: Choose from three different massage types
- Weightless Support: Lifts and supports your head and feet, making you feel weightless
- Remote Control: A nifty little remote that controls most of the adjustments and the lights
- Warranty: All Lineal Adjustable Bases come with a 25-year warranty, although you will only be covered for free replacement parts during the first five years
Ordering Information
Place an order directly through the Saatva website, selecting the type, size, and thickness of your chosen mattress. You can pay for everything during the checkout or use Klarna, which offers interest-free financing if you clear the balance within 6 months.
As with all financing options, make sure you read the terms and conditions before agreeing to anything. If you are not confident in your abilities to clear the balance within 6 months, don’t buy, as you could be stung with an APR of 19.99%, turning that affordable mattress and/or base into an even more expensive purchase.
Saatva Reviews
You’ll find tens of thousands of consumer reviews on the Saatva website that score a 4.9 out of 5 on average, which is an impressive score, to say the least. Of course, these are the reviews they show on their site, and you could be forgiven for dismissing them as biased, but the same positive reviews can be found elsewhere as well.
The Saatva Trustpilot page has over 500 reviews at the time of writing, with an average score of 4.6 out of 5. Google has over 12,000 and 4.8/5 rating, and ConsumerAffairs has a similar rating.
The vast majority of reviews are 5-star and verified, with 1 and 2-star reviews accounting for less than 5% of the total. These bad reviews often complain of late deliveries and problems with delivery companies.
This is not entirely unusual, as companies like Saatva contract their deliveries to third-party providers and have little control over what happens to the product when it leaves their warehouse. Customers don’t always acknowledge this, and if there is an issue, it’s the retailer that feels their frustration.
The good news is that Saatva seems eager to deal with these problems and remedy them as best they can. The company makes a habit of responding to bad reviews and complaints left on third-party websites and always pushes for a resolution, which is always nice to see.
Mistakes happen and issues occur, these things can’t be avoided. You can only hope that the company cares enough to find a resolution, which is definitely the case with Saatva.

Online mattress and bed retailers love a good promotion. It’s rare that you’ll find a furniture store without at least one seasonal sale and a glut of offers, and Saatva is no exception.
Before you buy, look around for some coupons. We have checked the site several times over the last few months and there has been a sizeable discount available each time, with the current one offering a savings of $200 when you spend $1,000.
