The right community is the one whose care team you'd trust at 3am — everything else is secondary.
Start with care, not amenities
A beautiful lobby doesn't help at night. Ask about staffing ratios, how care is delivered on each floor, and what happens when needs increase.
Questions worth asking
Bring these to every tour:
- What is the caregiver-to-resident ratio overnight?
- How are medication and mobility needs handled?
- What triggers a move to a higher level of care, and what does it cost?
