LifeStation: A Medical Alert Company

LifeStation launched in 1977 and is one of the biggest privately-owned medical alert providers in the United States. In the decades since its launch, it has helped to save thousands of lives and has prevented many more vulnerable people from suffering serious injuries and succumbing to life-threatening illnesses.

If you need some added peace of mind inside and outside your home, LifeStation may offer what you're looking for. In this guide, we will highlight the company's products, features, and pricing in an attempt to find the most suitable and affordable package for you.

About LifeStation

LifeStation has received thousands of 5-star reviews and a wealth of critical praise. It has an A+ accreditation from the Better Business Bureau and while there are a few complaints (as is often the case), many of these have been resolved quickly and efficiently.

The company is based in New Jersey, but it offers products and services to customers throughout the United States.

LifeStation Medical Alert Systems

There are two main products in the LifeStation catalog: one for monitoring you inside your home and one to help you when you're out. It may not sound like a huge range and when compared to providers like MobileHelp and Medical Guardian, it's not. However, these devices come with a multitude of features and provide an array of benefits, as discussed below:

The At Home Medical Alert System

The most basic of the two LifeStation products offers protection in the home. Prices start at only $21.95 a month and it provides the following benefits:

Independence at Home: The LifeStation In Home solution works by connecting to your landline and giving you a separate help button to wear around the house. In the event of an accident or a serious health issue, simply press the button and make a call. It comes with 24/7 emergency monitoring that will always be there in case of an emergency.

Waterproof: The help button is completely water-resistant, so you can wear it in the shower. Many of the accidents that occur in the home happen in the shower. It's important, therefore, to have protection when you're bathing and washing, and the LifeStation button provides this.

Speaker: The LifeStation button has a powerful speaker that even the hard of hearing can detect. It provides direct and crystal-clear access to the emergency monitoring center at all times.

Range: The wearable device works within 500 feet of the base unit, which means you should be covered wherever you are in the house and yard.

Fall Detection: The automatic fall detection feature uses accelerometers to detect when you have fallen and sends alerts to the emergency response team.

Lightweight: The button is small and light. You will barely notice it, which makes it easier to take with you everywhere you go. The last thing you want is a cumbersome button that constantly gets in your way and weighs you down.

Mobile LTE: Medical Alert System with GPS

The Mobile LTE has many of the same benefits as the In Home base unit version outlined above. The difference is that you can use it outside of the house and pretty much anywhere that you choose. You don't need to stay within 500 feet of the base unit and it even uses GPS to pinpoint your location and send emergency responders to you.

It has fall detection, a clear speaker, and uses voice prompts to tell you when the battery is low, ensuring that it doesn't die on you when you need it most.

That's the good news, but the bad news is that all of this comes at a substantial cost of at least $37.95 per month.

It's definitely on the higher end of the spectrum when compared to other mobile devices and it's a significant jump from the LifeStation In Home solution, but it's worth its weight in gold if you need what it offers.
