General Information

With a location in the area of downtown Escondido, Redwood Terrace is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that was built nearly 40 years ago. The building is still in good condition and property is meticulously landscaped. It has a large main campus that takes up more than one city block, and a number of single-family homes. Additionally, Redwood Terrace is right in the middle of constructing its new Memory Care building.

Important to note, there is very little parking at this community, which often requires visitors to park on the street. In addition, the layout of the property can make for a slight challenge in getting around . If you’re looking to tour the property, be sure to visit the marketing office.

The Independent Living section of Redwood Terrace houses the majority of the residents. Living there comes with a hefty entry fee as well as a monthly fee, which increases as the square footage does. At Redwood Terrace, there are apartments, cottages and single-family homes for independent residents. The Assisted Living area of Redwood Terrace (19 apartments) does not require a community or entry fee. Its pricing covers all care services except for incontinence.  The Skilled Nursing facility offers 59 beds, most of which are private rooms. In 2016, it received a perfect state survey.

While residency at Redwood Terrace can offer considerable tax deductions and benefits as a non-profit CCRC, the entrance fee ranges from $67,000 – $210,000 in addition to monthly fees.
